MLM leads can be free if you you use what is popularly known as “attraction marketing” or web 2.0 tactics.
Awhile ago, we invested some time into experimenting with instant and personal messaging on popular sites such as my space, facebook, and twitter to get quality leads. Now just an upfront warning, you have to be careful doing this so that you don’t look like a spammer. If you appear to be spamming and overtly advertising your network marketing business you could be reported and suspended from the network.
What you want to do is use a type of technique that can be very successful at building your MLM leads list. This technique will make you appear friendly and it gives you the opportunity to use your personality to your advantage. (After years in network markeing, we are convinced that you have to be somewhat outgoing, or develop these qualities, to be successful at MLM.)
First, you want to look at a list of prospects that may seem interesting to you: have similar interests as you such as children, golf, family, and/or location. You then want to either instant message them or personal message (PM) them depending on what network you are on and your level of comfort doing this. Bear in mind that trying to secure an MLM lead through pm-ing will be a longer process.
Your message should be short. Hey, love your page, I like Tulowitski too, do you go to many Rockies games?
This sounds like anything but what your true motive is, but what you are doing is sorting. You are trying to find people you can relate to quickly and easily. The ideal answer from this person would be something like: “Ya, Tulo is a great player, but I am so busy (or broke!) that I don’t get to many games.”
Then you could reply, “oh really? What do you do?” This is the question you want to get to as quickly as possible. Also, you want to keep them talking by always asking open ended questions. People love to talk about themselves, encourage them!
What you want to get the person to do is ask YOU what you do. Be honest but short with your answer. “Oh, I have my own business that I work from home. If I lived closer to Denver, though, I sure would be going to more games! So, do you like what you do”, or “how long have you been doing ____?” Keep them talking about their job. You will be able tell rather quickly if they are a good quality MLM lead or not.
And the beauty of this is that it is a “soft sell”. You don’t come across as a pushy network marketer. This type of MLM lead generation will fit many personalities and be a much more comfortable and rewarding experience.
