Purchased Leads are Overrated

by admin on June 23, 2009

.

Yes, this is harsh, but after years of experience in network marketing, you do not have to purchase MLM leads to be successful at building a profitable business. Everybody knows the stats: out of every hundred people you call, you may get one sign up.

If you think about these stats a little more in depth, however, leads have to be targeted enough to even become a possible MLM prospect. So how does one go about finding targeted leads if you are not purchasing them you may ask. That is a great question with more than one possible answer. We are going to give you one that is different then what your upline may teach you, and this is only because them may not realize it, and also, they may not want to take the time to learn it.

SEO

Yes, search engine optimization is key to getting your site or your (not yet made) blog found. We cannot go into detail in just one small post on how  to create a blog that can be found in the top of the search engines, but we can answer any questions on this matter or point you in the right direction.

Basically, you want to find a term that is searched for enough enough, but does not have to much competition and then create a blog around that (usually long-tailed) phrase. On the blog you want to sell your business opportunity in a way that will make people request more information. These people then become extremely targeted MLM leads that you can then call and/or send information to.

This works and it works well because the people who found your site are targeted prospects who truly want more information on your home business, or one like it. Be creative when thinking about terms of what people would search for. For example, “work from home” will be a very searched for term, but way too competitive. Instead of that, try targeting something like “how to start a cosmetic home business”. Start small and then you can find other phrases to target.

The one thing about this technique to find targeted MLM leads is that it will take time and it will take the energy to conquer yet another learning curve, but if you do learn how to set up your own SEO’d site, it will cut down on the amount of other prospecting and lead generation techniques that you may currently be using.

Offline Ways to Get MLM Leads

by admin on June 20, 2009

.

Oh the wonderful ways to get MLM leads! There are many ways to find prospects without spending any money, but you have to develop your own technique that will work for you and that you are comfortable with. There are quite a few offline ways to get leads that you may or may not have thought of.

First, there is the “old-fashioned” yet successful rule of “anyone at arm’s length”. What this means is that when you are out and about running errands, kid’s games, or at the park, you engage anyone who is at an arm’s length. As with everything we have mentioned in previous posts, there is a method and technique to learn to get an MLM prospect this way.

You do not want sound pushy, you want to sound friendly and almost like you do not care if they ask you what you do or not. Refer to this post on free ways to get mlm leads as it will show you some useful techniques that work with on or offline MLM leads.

A second offline way to get leads is to go to real-estate open houses. This obviously is if you have the time, but this is an excellent way to find quality prospects. Go to the open houses and pick up some business cards from real estate agents. After you collect enough, you can call the agents personally and pay them a compliment like, “wow, with your people skills and go-getter attitude, you would be perfect for our business. Have you ever thought about other ways to make money?” Another reason real estate agents are good MLM prospects is because of the current state of the housing market. They may be more than ready to try something new, and as stated above, would probably be very good at building a network marketing business.

And a third way to find leads offline is to call your warm market in an “non-traditional” way. What you do is call your list and instead of trying to sell THEM on the idea, you are just asking for their help in finding you some MLM leads. Kind of like, “hey Lisa, I was hoping you could help me out and see if we could brainstorm together in seeing who you thought might be good at this?” This is also a good way to introduce them to your business, and they will let you know if they are interested or not and may provide you with some quality prospects. Make sure and pay them a compliment up front and let them know how much you respect their opinion and that is why you asked them to help you in the first place.

All these methods can work to help you find quality MLM leads. Experiment and see what works with your personality.
